Just in: Austria abolishes an orchestra

It has been announced that the  the Bühne Baden orchestra is to be disbanded, its work being taken over by the Niederösterreichischen Tonkünstler orchestra from 2027.

The realignment is supposed to save one million Euros in public subsidy.

The Baden stage orchestra, which has existed for two centuries, plays mostly operettas and stage musicals.

Locals are furious.
