London tops university chart for performing arts. Believe that?

London tops university chart for performing arts. Believe that?

The Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy are #1 and #2 respectively in the new QS world university rankings for performing arts. The Paris Conservatoire is 3rd, Guildhall 4th and Vienna 5th.

So far, so credible.

Where things go awry is finding the outstanding Liszt Academy in Budapest at #24, one place below Yale. Neither ranking makes any sense at all.

More ridiculous still is the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin coming in at #38 and Indiana University Bloomington, possibly the best inm America, at #49.

These QS charts need to be taken with a chunk of salt.
