Munich fires Academy chief ‘for breach of trust’ in a Signal-type incident

Munich fires Academy chief ‘for breach of trust’ in a Signal-type incident

Message received:

Professor Barbara Gronau is no longer President of the Bavarian Theatre Academy August Everding and Head of the Dramaturgy Program. The State Ministry for Science and the Arts has terminated her employment due to an irreparable breach of trust.

Minister of Arts Markus Blume : “I deeply regret the separation from Professor Gronau because I experienced her as a competent personality with good ideas and a high level of expertise, and I held her in high regard personally. Nevertheless, the separation was unavoidable because the basis for trusting cooperation at the Theatre Academy has been irreparably damaged. Therefore, a continuation of the employment relationship is not possible. One thing is certain: this change will have no impact on the Theatre Academy as an institution. We will begin the search for a successor as soon as possible.”

Prof. Dr. Barbara Gronau took over the direction of the Bavarian Theatre Academy August Everding on 1 September 2022.

Apparently Gronau eavesdropped on a meeting without permission. Must have been one of those Signal drop-ins.
