Nutcracker plays as Russian youth firebombs army office

On the afternoon of December 20, a young man in black threw two Molotov cocktails at the door and window of the Leningrad Region Military Commissariat on Fontanka Embankment.

Tourists on a passing bus filmed the incident, with Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker playing in the background.

There have been numerous reported attacks on this enforced recruitment centre. The perpetrator made no attempt to hide his face. A suspect was later arrested.
