Sad death of Dutch soloist, 53

Sad death of Dutch soloist, 53

The death was made known today of the Amsterdam alto Elsbeth Gerritsen, star of many oratorios.

In addition to classical roles, Elsbeth sang in world premieres of Xenakis, Visman and Guy Harries.

She was a member of the Nederlands Kamerkoor and worked for the Bachvereniging.

Elsbeth was married to the bass-baritone Michiel Meijer. Our condolences to him and to their children.
