So who was Covent Garden’s pro-Pal flag-waver?

So who was Covent Garden’s pro-Pal flag-waver?

The cast member who brandished a Palestine flag at last night’s curtain call for Il trovatore is reported to be Daniel Perry, a self-styled ‘queer dance artist, choreographer/movement director, and DJ’. He is seen on video resisting an attempt by Oliver Mears, director of the Royal Opera, to take down the flag.

Perry’s chances of a return to any major London stage are considered minimal. But he should enjoy a welcome in Hamas-friendly Teheran, where queer stage artists are much sought after.
