Transfer joy: England striker nets a Strad

The footballer Jamie Vardy, as famous at his wife’s side in the law courts as he is on the pitch, has secured a free transfer this season to Italian Serie A club Cremonese.

Both husband and wife are pleased.

Cremonese FC are delighted. They have shared a video of their new striker walking through the Treasure Room at the Museo del Violino, where some of the finest Stradivari instruments are preserved.
