Violin professor is bailed on Canada sex charge

A professor at the University of Manitoba, Oleg Pokhanovski, has been charged in Winnipeg with sexual assault on a teenaged private pupil.

The alleged incidents took place between 2007 and 2010.

Pokhanovski, 55, reported voluntarily to police on July 29. He was chaged and released on bail. He is a graduate of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and received his PhD from the University of Montreal.
