After 28 remarkable years of visionary leadership, President and CEO Alan D. Valentine will retire at the end of the 2025/26 season. Under Alan’s guidance, the Nashville Symphony has become one of the leading orchestras in the nation. He oversaw the design, construction, and opening of Schermerhorn Symphony Center, which is renowned for having some of the best acoustics in the country. Additionally, he helped the Symphony achieve 14 GRAMMY® Awards from 27 nominations. His tenure also enhanced the organization’s impact on the community and expanded its outreach to nearly 550,000 people each year.
