Originally from Okayama he studied ciomposition at the National University of Art and Music in Tokyo and at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris.

Michael Levinas writes: ‘On behalf of the co-founders of the Itineraire I want to say how upset we are by the disappearance of our dear Fuminori Tanada. May the musical life that opens to new horizons, honour his deserved posterity and his work Michael Levinas Honorary President of the itinerary.’
