The Southwest Florida Symphony has announced closure.

FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 29, 2025) – After more than six decades of presenting outstanding orchestral performances for the enrichment, entertainment and education of the community, the Southwest Florida Symphony announces its decision to permanently close. The Symphony will continue operations through the end of the fiscal year on June 30, 2025.

The Southwest Florida Symphony debuted as a community orchestra on April 15, 1961, playing in schools and community centers with a roster of only 24 volunteer musicians.
