World’s first pipa concerto?

A Concerto for pipa and orchestra by French-Canadian composer Christian Thomas, to be premiered next week in Montreal, claims to be the first of its kind in the western world.

It has been written for the virtuoso pipa player Liu Fang and is titled Dragon, in celebration of the Chinese year.
